Two Days of Travelling and Finally We're in Connecticut!

Well, traveling has been uneventful, but enjoyable. On Monday, we made it to the NC/VA line and stayed in Roanoke Rapids. We were on the road today passing through cities including Richmond, VA; Washington, DC; Baltimore, MD; Philadelphia, PA; and New York City, NY. This evening, with Holly at the helm, we fought rush hour traffic in NYC on our way to New Haven , CT. We are including a couple of pictures of
rush hour on I-95 on the George Washington Bridge.

Later this evening, we finally made it to New Haven, CT to have a coal-fired-oven pizza at Sally's Apizza. In New Haven, around the corner from Yale University, and two blocks apart are Sally's Apizza and Frank Pepe's Pizzeria. Both restaurants were started in the 1930s and both were featured on both the Travel Channel and the Food Network as having the best pizza in the country! We chose Sally's because it was smaller, more quaint but we knew that when Frank Sinatra was in the New York area, he would send someone to Sally's for a coal-fired pizza! After all, if the pizza is good enough for "the chairman of the board", then it's got to be good enough for the two of us! The pizza was outstanding!

After the world class pizza and a couple Rolling Rocks, we headed to our hotel in Enfield, CT, near the airport. Tomorrow, we will move to the hotel in Manchester, which was full this evening.
